P5.3Review Council’s public place waste and recycling infrastructure

Public bins are located across all areas of our community in spaces such as parks, sporting grounds, and shopping strips.

In 2022 an inspection of all public waste infrastructure in Boroondara was undertaken. The findings from this inspection will be used to develop a set of service standards for all public place waste and recycling infrastructure, ensuring they are accessible and deliver maximum resource recovery. The inspection results will also be benchmarked against the new service standards to identify gaps and prioritise upgrades to infrastructure.
