Description

In 2022 we held a Student Sustainability Leadership Summit for year 5 and 6 students across Boroondara. We had 100 students participate and build their sustainability leadership skills.

We propose to hold this summit yearly with planning for a 2023 summit underway. We also offer schools and kinders a range of sustainability support, including biodiversity gardening resources and classroom incursions.

Free FOGO compost, mulch and trees were made available to schools in 2022, along with the existing indigenous plant vouchers already available to schools and kinders.

    Student Sustainability Leadership Summit 2022

In 2022 we held a Student Sustainability Leadership Summit for year 5 and 6 students across Boroondara. We had 100 students participate and build their sustainability leadership skills. We propose to hold this summit yearly.

Delivered by Earthwatch Australia using their Kids Teaching Kids education model, the summit gave primary school students the opportunity to develop their sustainability leadership skills and share ideas about how to live more sustainably. One hundred students from 8 local primary schools participated in this year’s summit. Students who attended were in grades 4, 5 and 6.
