We encourage you to get involved.
We are continuing to work with our Friends' Groups to support the fantastic work they do.
There are many dedicated friends' groups that play a vital role in restoring our local environment. These locals meet regularly to help look after our parks and reserves and work closely with our Parks and Gardens staff. You can join these groups to both help the environment and gain valuable skills that will help you transform your home garden. Visit Council’s website for contact details for the following friends' groups.
At the end of 2021 we engaged a new officer to help support our friends' groups. Friends' groups have been provided with access to biodiversity training courses and involved in citizen science project such as recording micro bats.
Council will continue to provide support to community groups engaged in activities that promote biodiversity.
