Following the completion of large scale stormwater harvesting projects at Grace Park and Gordon Barnard Reserve, this project will identify, assess and prioritise the next IWM project opportunities in Boroondara. Typically IWM projects look at ways to manage the whole water cycle to deliver multiple benefits including reducing stormwater pollution to waterways, a reduction in drinking water use, increased greening to reduce urban heat and flood mitigation.
Across the lower Yarra catchment, the cumulative impact of frequent and large flows of untreated stormwater is devastating to river health and in-stream ecology. Stormwater quality can be improved through reducing pollution at the source, and also by slowing and treating the flow prior to discharge into receiving waters.

Task state: completed
This was developed based on available site data, input received from across Council and site specific reports, surveys and plans. The projects have been assessed for their feasibility based on a range of criteria.
Work has commenced to develop a draft project scope and project plan. First drafts have been developed and feedback is being sought from internal project stakeholders
On site assessments will be conducted at the most feasible project sites to confirm their viability.
